How to improve the visibility feature for Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3.0.8
Internet Explorer 7
To permanently apply font and colour changes:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'
on the 'General' tab, select 'Accessibility'
tick each of the three boxes, click 'OK'
To enlarge the text:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'
on the 'General' tab, click 'Accessibility'
tick the 'Ignore font sizes specified on web pages' check box, click 'OK'
on the 'Browser' menu click 'View'
click 'Text size', and choose the size of text
To change the text colour and background colour:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'
on the 'General' tab, click 'Colours'
untick 'Use Windows Colours'
tick box next to 'Text' and choose a colour, click 'OK'
tick box next to 'Background' and choose a colour, click 'OK'
To change the colour of links displayed on a screen:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'
on the 'General' tab, click 'Accessibility'
tick 'Select ignore colours specified on Web pages', click 'OK'
on the 'General' tab, click 'Colours'
untick 'Use hover colours'
tick 'Visited' and choose the colour that suits you best, Click OK
tick 'Not Visited' and choose the colour that suits you best, Click OK
To prevent graphics from appearing on web pages:
-
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'
-
on the 'Advanced' tab, scroll down to the 'Multimedia' heading
-
click on the graphics options ('animations', 'videos', 'pictures' and 'images') to remove the ticks
-
click on 'Apply', and then click 'OK'
-
if graphics still appear, select 'View' then 'Refresh' from the toolbar, or press F5
To change the size of the window:
click 'View' then 'Full Screen' from the toolbar, or press F11

To apply the font and colour changes below permanently:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Options' (Windows) 'Preferences' (Mac)
click Content, look for the Fonts & Colors box
click 'Advanced' next to the font options. Adjust menu options according to your needs
untick 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above', click 'OK'
click 'Colors', untick 'Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above', click 'OK'
To enlarge the text (page zoom):
click 'View'
select 'Zoom' option
click 'Zoom In' or 'Zoom out' option to change the text size, or
To change the text colour:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'
click Content
click the 'Advanced...', select your desired fonts and size
untick 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts', click 'OK'
To change the background colour:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'
click Content
click 'Colors', select your desired colours.
deselect 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts', click 'OK'
To change the colour of links displayed on a screen:
go to 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'
click Content
click 'Colors', select your desired colours.
deselect 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts', click 'OK'
To prevent graphics from appearing on web pages:

untick 'Load images automatically', click 'OK'
